Education

A founding object of KOGS is to encourage and assist in the teaching of obstetrics and gynaecology in Kenya, so that women and children receive the best possible standard of care.

Mentorship, education and training is a strategic pillar of the Society. Members have access to continuing medical education, skills-building workshops around the Annual Scientific Congress, and communication and leadership training developed by KOGS.

Our Work

How KOGS trains and mentors

Teaching obstetrics and gynaecology

KOGS supports and assists the teaching of obstetric and gynaecological practice in Kenya, in line with its mandate to raise the standard of care for women and children.

Continuing medical education

CMEs give members a regular forum to update clinical knowledge. Membership includes access to training and professional advancement, including these sessions.

Skills-building workshops

Pre-congress and congress workshops focus on practical skills, from scientific sessions to hands-on training that complements day-to-day clinical work.

Leadership and mentorship

KOGS has developed communication and leadership training for members, and offers a professional community in which obstetricians and gynaecologists exchange ideas and mentor one another.
